One Hundred and More Views of Cedar Creek ESR

Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is a 5,600 acre wonderland where the father of modern ecology did his research in the 1930's. The land is owned by the University of Minnesota and scientists and students from around the world come here to do research. Walking through this restricted and mostly undeveloped area I saw potent possibilities for landscape paintings. This led to a project intially called One Hundred and More Views of Cedar Creek ESR, which will culminate in an exhibit and a book produced by CCESR. However, I think that even 100 views is way too few to do justice to the variety and seasonal changes that occur here. I would like to do 1,000 but will end up settling somewhere in between 100 and 1,000.  This page gives thumbnail views of some of the images in this ongoing project. The Majority of the paintings are 8" x 10" or 9" x 12". Most are available for purchase, if you will allow access to the artwork for the exhibit and book photographing when the series is completed.
