One Hundred and More Views of Cedar Creek ESR

´╗┐Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve is a 5,600 acre wonderland where the father of modern ecology did his research in the 1930's. The land is owned by the University of Minnesota and scientists and students from around the world come here to do research. Walking through this restricted and mostly undeveloped area I saw potent possibilities for landscape paintings. The inspired vistas prompted an idea for the project I call “One Hundred and More Views of Cedar Creek ESR.” I have now created over one hundred paintings from my walks through often very remote areas of CCESR, so the “More” in the title really means that there is a life-time’s worth of inspiration to work from even were I to stop creating figurative sculpture, painting murals and portraits to focus entirely on the beauty , wonder, and mystery of the natural landscape throughout all seasons.

This page shows thumbnail views of some of the images in this ongoing project. The Majority of the paintings are 8" x 10" or 9" x 12" and are available for purchase, prices vary with most in the $350 to $700 range. A few are not for sale. The best thing to do if interested is to contact me ( with a description of one or several, like this: " Seven rows down, third from the left, with the light at the end of the path". I will reply with the title, size, and price.
