Nolte Mural

This life-size double portrait mural depicts Bob and Miriam Nolte, who were involved in Volunteers of America for 75 years. The commission was just for their portraits. Reading about their lives, I was inspired to do quite a bit more, gratis, to show symbolically and with vignettes from their activities the "treasures in heaven" that accrue from a life well lived. I desired to create a visual record of appreciation for their tremendous service, heartfulness, and giving of their lives to significantly help others. The spheres of light/energy include on the inner layer representations of virtues and qualities the Nolte's expressed. This mural was painted on canvas and applied to a curved wall in VOA's Nicollet Towers in downtown Minneapolis.
